About The Event
The week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday is often called, "Passion Week" or "Holy Week." "Passion Week" refers more to the increased ministry of Jesus, including his trials, crucifixion, and resurrection. "Holy Week" refers more to the church calendar and events that churches use to celebrate what Jesus did for us. Not only is this a great time to invite friends to church, but it's a great time for personal worship and quiet time Bible study reflection.
Jesus enters Jerusalem with shouts of joy on Palm Sunday, but he is intent on giving his life, All four Gospel writers spend a significant portion of their books writing about the events of the week. When we consider that Jesus ministered for three years, it is interesting how much is devoted to the week in the four Gospels: Mathew 25%, Mark 31%, Luke 17%, and John 36%. John has almost 40% dedicated to this one week! This means for us Passion Week is worth celebrating!
